The Saugus Board of Selectmen consists of five members elected to a two year term every odd November. They meet on a Tuesday evening, twice a month at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall Auditorium. Agendas are posted in the Town Hall the Thursday before a meeting. All meetings are open to the public and include approval of the minutes, invited guests, hearings and continued hearings, correspondence, Town Manager's reports, Member's motions and citizen's forum.

The Saugus Board of Selectmen are the Town's Liquor Licensing Authority and Sewer Commissioners. They issue most general licenses; adopt traffic rules and regulations for the Town as well as regulating anything that crosses a public way; make various appointments to Town Boards and Commissions; appoint constables; and issue Special Permits (S-2).
